    Success means preparation

Are you preparing for success or for failure?

I am sure you want to succeed.

The only people who do not prepare to succeed are those who have low esteem. And because they approach life in this manner, they prepare themselves for failure. The reason why not many are successful is NOT that they do not want to succeed but because they do not prepare for success.

Think about the recently concluded ASEAN Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last month. Obviously, Malaysia, aside from the advantage of being the host country, took all the necessary steps to prepare all its athletes for the gold medal harvest. It cannot be different to you!

Success does not happen as an accident

When Manny Pacquiao (now a Senator of the Republic) was a young struggling boxer, he was earning only a few pesos in a year than what he would get today for only less than two hours in a professional bout. That’s because preparing for success was the name of his sport, boxing! And just like any endeavor, preparation is necessary to succeed.

Success is not an accident! Successful athletes, like Manny Pacquiao, put in many hours honing one-self and developing the skills that now command multi-million dollar price per professional boxing match.

    Learn more to earn more

We have to prepare for success! The more we prepare means to learn more. And to learn more, we will earn more! Reading books, doing the homework, attending seminars or workshops, listening to experts advise including your mentors, using the tapes (CDs and DVDs) and the internet for information and doing things right are areas where we can learn more. Increased preparation can increase our value. The more prepared a person is, the more valuable that person is! And when a person is valued more, the more earnings he will reap.

The general knowledge that we have acquired in school is not all that would make us successful. But it can provide the basics to our effort to prepare for the future. We have to continue to prepare and acquire specialized knowledge where our fair market value could increase markedly.

You have a choice. You can choose to be where you are now --- in your own comfort zone. Or prepare for success. Bill Gates, Henry Ford, or Manny Pacquiao chose to prepare for success. And you?
