A lot of us have probably experienced procrastinating so much that we lose sight of our current goals. Thankfully, these tips may help you improve your concentration and focus, so you will never experience those things again!

    Divide and Conquer
One way of boosting your concentration and focus is by learning how to prioritize. The reason why we feel overwhelmed and hopeless in one task is that we feel it is too big to handle. However, by learning how to cut that big task into smaller chunks, you can focus more on the task at hand.

So, if you are facing a task that you have difficulty focusing on, try dividing that task into smaller sub-tasks. In this way, you can focus more on the smaller and easier sub-tasks before doing the other bigger sub-tasks.

    Stick To Your Routine
Having a routine is a quick and easy way of learning how to concentrate and focus. By ingraining your tasks into a daily routine, you tend to focus on accomplishing those tasks and avoid forgetting them.

Making a routine is not as difficult as it sounds. For example, if you are a writer and you want to focus more on making 500 words every day, turn it into a routine. Set a timer for your writing every day and minimize distractions in your environment. By cultivating the discipline and time for this task, writing 500 words will easily become part of your daily routine!

    Reduce Caffeine Consumption
A lot of people think that drinking several cups of coffee a day will make them more focused. But, a more effective stimulant for focus is exercise. Studies have found that aerobic exercises are effective in sharpening focus and concentration in people with or without ADHD. It has been theorized that exercise helps in releasing brain chemicals responsible for attention and focus.

Other than exercise, water is an imperative component of focus and concentration. A study published in The Journal of Nutrition found that mild dehydration leads to impairment in focus. Research psychologist Harris Lieberman warns that thirst is not a reliable measurement for hydration. So, if you already feel unfocused, then that means you need to drink water.

    Get Enough Sleep
Another essential component of focus and concentration is sleep. Preceding the REM phase, the delta phase of sleep is essential in the improvement of brain activity. It is at this stage that your brain starts to shut down and your cognitive functions are strengthened. By cutting back on sleep, your brain to complete the delta phase; thus, hampering your focus and other cognitive functions.

    Wiggle Your Toes
In most cases, improving your focus and concentration is as easy as wiggling your toes!

According to Olivia Cabane of The Charisma Myth,” people tend to lose focus when they are not stimulated in a short period of time. That explains why some people become inattentive in dull conversations. To bring back that lost focus, she advises wiggling your toes as a means of stimulation.
