For civil engineering students, the CE Board exam is the last hurdle to jump over. There are several tips on how to prepare for it in the long-run, but not for the short-run. How should you prepare yourself for the CE board exam one week from now? Here’s what you should do.
Prepare your CE Board requirements and valuables
To avoid last-minute preparation, plan what you need to bring during the examination day. First, prepare a list of valuables you need to bring on the examination day. The first things on your list should be Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) requirements, Notice of Admission, your Casio FX-991 ES Plus calculator. Bring at least two calculators just in case your first one runs out of battery. The second things on your list are a water bottle, umbrella, and light snacks. It is recommended to bring energy bars and chocolate snacks because they will boost your energy, and thus your brain power. The third set of things you should bring are probably your notes and other valuables. But, make sure to travel light. You don’t want to be tired on the examination day because of your valuables, right?
Check the venue of your CE Board exam and related instructions
Look for your room assignment at the given CE Board exam venue. 2-3 days before the exam, the PRC website posts the room assignments for their examinees. Make sure to know where you are supposed to go so that you won’t be lost. Plan the best route to your examination venue and include extra hours to your travel time for unexpected occurrences. Also, make sure to read important instructions regarding the CE Board exam. Please remember that there is dress code during the exam and a set of instructions on the General Admissions. Take time to read these instructions carefully.
Stop studying and just relax
It’s one week before the exam! We are pretty sure you are worried about the exam. Take time to boost your self-confidence before the exam. This includes talking to friends or family, watching internet videos, or doing hobbies. You deserve it after months of preparing for this important examination.Although you might be tempted to cram or study some more, that’s not advisable. The week before your exam is supposed to be the concluding portion of your studies. This means you are finishing up of your review, and just laying low and having fun for a while.
Sleep
This is the most important preparation before your exam. Make sure to have 8-10 hours of sleep before your exam. Not only will sleep give you energy, but it also gives your brain the time to rearrange and organize your memory. This will ultimately help you during the exam, where you are fresh and ready to answer all the questions. With this in mind, avoid late night studying. It is a tempting thought to study before the exam – after all, you might have forgotten to study something important. But, always remember that your body needs to be as prepared as your mind. And that means giving it time to rest.
